Obviously this explanation will contain spoilers so read at your own risk below this point!

Basically Violetpaw ligit tries to drug Darktail and his closest followers buy putting poppy seeds in their prey so she could help 4 RiverClan prisoners + Needlepaw escape the Kin. However, Sleekwhishker (who, pardon my french, is a B I T C H ), caught Violetpaw and snitched on her to Darktail. Darktail then decides that as punishment, Needletail is to be killed. Darktail and his gang drag Needletail and Violetpaw to the lake, and attempts to drown Needletail while forcing Violetpaw to watch. Violetpaw begs Darktail to kill her insetead of Needletail. Darktail, agrees, and lets Needletail out of the lake. However, he says that for Needletail to live, she must be the one to kill Violetpaw. Needletail is like "heck no', and sacrificed herself to allow Violetpaw time to escape.

I got war flashbacks from Stonefur's death tbh ;-;

Needletail really redeemed herself for me in this book, and honestly made a really good anti-hero. 

And Violetpaw was awesome, her bravery reminded me of Ivypool when she was a spy
